Install the widget

The widget is the chat button on your website. Customers click it to talk to your AI agent and your team. You add it with one line of code.

Inboxes → your inbox → Install → Script

1. Open Inboxes and click Settings on your inbox's card.

2. Under Install, click Script.

3. In Add the widget, click the copy button next to the code. It looks like this, with your inbox's own key:

4. Paste it just before </body> on every page of your site.

5. Open your site. The chat button appears in the corner.

• The key tells Chatwig which inbox the chat belongs to. It is safe to show publicly.

• To put the button on the left, add data-chatwig-position="left" to the script tag. This overrides the Position set in Appearance.

• Open or close the chat from your own button or link with window.Chatwig.open() and window.Chatwig.close():

• No place for code? Use Or share the chat page: a full-page chat at https://app.chatwig.ai/chat/<key>. Copy it with Copy chat page link and share it in emails, on social profiles or as a QR code.

• Open live chat, at the top of the inbox settings, opens the same chat page so you can try it.
