Ask customers to rate a chat

A thumbs up or down, and an optional comment, after each chat ends.

The satisfaction survey (CSAT) asks customers how their chat went, right after it ends. You see what worked and what didn't, chat by chat.

Inboxes → your inbox → Widget → CSAT

  1. Check that the switch next to Customer Satisfaction Survey is on. It's on for new inboxes.
  2. In Question, write what the survey asks, like "How was your chat with our shop?". Leave it empty to use the default question.
  3. Click Save changes on the bar at the bottom of the page.

Good to know

  • When the chat ends, the widget shows Conversation ended and your question. The customer taps thumbs up or thumbs down, can add a comment, and taps Send.
  • Ratings show in the chat and in Analytics.
  • The survey is optional. Customers can tap Skip, or just write again, which starts a new chat.
  • Try it in the preview before you save: it shows the survey as customers will see it.
  • To stop asking, turn the switch off and click Save changes.
  • Changes reach your site the next time a visitor opens the widget.
