Add forms inside the chat

Short forms customers open from a button in the chat, like a return request.

In-chat forms are buttons in the chat that open a short form. Customers fill it in during the chat, for example to ask for a return.

Inboxes → your inbox → Widget → In-chat forms

  1. Under Where customers find your forms, choose Always visible (above the message box) or In the + menu. This saves at once.
  2. Click New form, then Regular form.
  3. Under Header, write the button's Label, like "Return an item", and pick an Icon. Add Intro text if you like.
  4. Under Fields, click Add field. Give each field a Label and a Type: Text, Number, Phone, Email, Date, Choice buttons, Dropdown or Date or period. Turn on Required where you need an answer.
  5. Under After sending, write the Confirmation the customer sees. Leave Message template on Automatic, or choose Custom to set how the answers read in the chat.
  6. Check that Show in chat is on, then click Save form.

Good to know

  • An API form gives the customer an instant answer from your own system, like an order's status. Pick API form, then the API it runs. You need an API tool under AI agent → API Tools first (Connect the agent to your system).
  • In an API form's Custom template, add | rupiah to a field to show a number as rupiah: Balance: {{data.balance | rupiah}} reads "Balance: Rp 1.500.000".
  • A form can have up to 8 fields, and a choice field up to 12 choices.
  • Each card is one button. Drag the cards to set the order of the buttons, and use the switch on a card to show or hide its button.
  • Try a form in the preview: fill it in and press Send. Nothing is sent.

Delete form removes the form and its button from the chat. To hide it for a while, turn off Show in chat instead.
